Only 12 Hours were remaining to be part of the hottest NFT this year, and I’m not talking about Christie’s auction of Beeple’s ‘EVERYDAYS: THE FIRST 5000 DAYS’. With only five days remaining, the bid is currently at $3,750,000 from 127 bidders, but about that another time. (You can read about it here)

BurntBanksy is for sale on opensea.io, and this begs the question:

Can art utilize this emerging blockchain technology called NFT’s to transfer value?

An avatar of @BurntBanksy appeared in a room called NFTS.tips on Clubhouse just after 4 PM on Friday, and the Mod Squad went wild. Moderator Alexander Mazzei was so excited as he told the listeners they would set up another room to speak to @BurntBanksy, on Clubhouse representing the blockchain group Injective Protocol. Wednesday, March 3, Injective Protocol burnt and minted the original Banksy ‘Morons’ print to be sold and distributed as an NFT (non-fungible tokens).

Morons’ is a famous piece by Banksy which parodies art collectors, has been burned by a team of crypto enthusiasts at a discreet Brooklyn location, and has gotten Art and Crypto world attention! Burning of Banksy has the art world fired up about it, but Banksy has destroyed his artwork in the past, shredding his painting “Girl With Balloon” immediately after its $1.4 million sale at Sotheby’s.

“I think [Banksy] would appreciate what we are doing since he also promotes creativity and iconoclastic ideas,” the avatar behind the burn told listeners in the Clubhouse room, and that a lot of people did not support the idea. Still, once Forbes wrote about it, we knew we were right all along.
